The API Sports and Fitness Camp at the Park School of Baltimore will return for its third year of operation after an exciting first two years that included visits by Baltimore Orioles second baseman Brian Roberts,Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Derrick Mason, 2005 NCAA Lacrosse Player of the Year Kyle Harrison, former Baltimore Orioles pitcher and Olympic gold medal-winner Rick Krivda and other former college and professional athletes and coaches. This year's camp again will run for at least six weeks, providing campers the opportunity to sign up for an entire summer of sports fun and instruction or to participate in three-week blocks or on a weekly basis. The camp, which runs from 8:45 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily, introduces kids between the ages of 7 and 14 to a variety of sports including baseball, basketball, football, lacrosse and soccer to name a few. A fun fitness component is included with the goal of helping kids understand that exercise can be fun and that participation and competitive sports is a means for them to live an active and healthy lifestyle well into their adult years. The program develops fundamental skills through drills, games, and contests, and ensures that they learn, improve, and maintain their focus – all while having a great time.
